MÜNDLICHER AUSDRUCK
Teil 2
Sie und Ihr Partner haben verschiedene Texte. Berichten Sie über Ihren Text, sagen Sie Ihre Meinung und fragen Sie Ihren Partner.

This is Sprechen Teil 2, just like on exam day. You and your partner each have a different text, and your partner cannot see yours. You tell your partner about your text, say what you think and ask what your partner thinks.
The method
-
1Summarize your text in your own words
-
2Give your opinion
-
3Ask what your partner thinks
Let's do the talk together
1Summarize your text in your own words
IHR TEXT
Immer mehr Menschen fahren in der Stadt mit dem Fahrrad. Das ist gesund und billig. Aber viele Straßen haben keinen Radweg, und das ist gefährlich.
Read your text once and find the problem. It is „keinen Radweg“, which means ‘no bike path’. You start your summary with „In meinem Text geht es um Fahrräder in der Stadt“, which means ‘my text is about bikes in the city’.
2Give your opinion
Ich finde Radfahren gut, weil es gesund ist.
„Ich finde“ means ‘I think’, and „weil“ means ‘because’. So the line gives what you think and a reason for it: ‘I think cycling is good because it is healthy’.
3Ask what your partner thinks
Und was denkst du?
You end with a question. „Und was denkst du?“ means ‘and what do you think?’, and now your partner has a turn to talk.

Before you speak, read your text once more. Think of the problem in it and one reason for your opinion.
Your turn: the question for your partner
IHR TEXT
Immer mehr Menschen fahren in der Stadt mit dem Fahrrad.
You have finished telling your partner about your text. Which line asks what your partner thinks?
Not quite. You want your partner to talk now. Which line asks what your partner thinks?
The answer is ‘b’. „Und was denkst du?“ means ‘and what do you think?’, so it asks your partner for an opinion. „Das war mein Text“ means ‘that was my text’, and „Ich bin fertig“ means ‘I am finished’. Both end your part, but neither asks your partner anything.
The answer and the explanation are shown above.
Two traps in the talk
Two traps can spoil your talk. Listen for both while you speak.
-
Reading your text out loud
Say you read „Immer mehr Menschen fahren in der Stadt mit dem Fahrrad“ out loud, word for word. Reading the text tells your partner nothing new, so use your own words instead: „In meinem Text geht es um Radfahren in der Stadt“ means ‘my text is about cycling in the city’.
-
A fact instead of your opinion
Say you answer with „Immer mehr Menschen fahren Rad“, which means ‘more and more people ride a bike’. That is a fact from the text, and it does not show what you think. „Ich finde Radfahren gut, weil es gesund ist“ gives your opinion and a reason.
